SWS, an international nonprofit, approached Design Swell to help build a new website for the organization. The new website would serve as a main information source for current and prospective members, the general public, and media. Additionally, SWS needed the website to have a searchable resource database, speaker-booking functionality, members-only private and forum-based communication, and a membership management system.
The former SWS website was dated and lacked strong organization, and there was no back source for all the websites information. Before building the new site, we had to properly organize and catalogue all the data from the new site and determine what the organization wanted to keep moving forward.
The organization did not have a monthly budget for website maintenance and updates, but would have a consistent amount of information to add each month. We designed the website to meet their specifications while still enabling someone with minimal Content Management System knowledge to provide the ongoing maintenance. This allow them to manage their own site without fear of disrupting the design or website coding.
The SWS website was built on the Wordpress platform to support the unique functionality and budget requirements of the organization. This allowed us to add features like a searchable resource database, speaker-booking functionality, members-only private communication, a public and private forum, and a membership management system.
Designed to be responsive to any display size, the new website was made to adapt to any device being - supporting computers, tablet and mobile browsing.
